Glossary
- Block Height
- The position number of a block in the chain, counted from the genesis block.
- Chain Tip
- The most recent block at the front of the chain that nodes are building on.
- Consensus Rules
- The shared rulebook every node enforces to decide whether a block is valid.
- Full Node
- A computer running Malairte software that validates the entire blockchain independently.
- Full Node
- A program that downloads the entire blockchain and independently verifies every rule for itself.
- Initial Block Download
- The one-time process of downloading and verifying the entire chain when a node first starts.
- Node Operator
- A person who runs and maintains a full node to help validate and relay the network.
- Peer
- Another node that yours connects to in order to exchange blocks and transactions.
- Reorganisation
- When a node switches to a competing branch of the chain that has more accumulated work.
