Node Operator

A person who runs and maintains a full node to help validate and relay the network.

A node operator is anyone who runs a Malairte full node, keeping it online, synced, and updated so it can validate blocks and relay data to peers. The role is unpaid and produces no coins; its value is in strengthening decentralisation and giving the operator a trustless view of the chain. Because the node software holds no keys and custodies no funds, a node operator is not a custodian and is not a natural target the way a large balance holder might be. The main duties are simple: keep the machine on, watch disk space and peer count, and apply software updates in good time, especially those that touch consensus rules.
